Ombre Edge Grain Cutting Board

The Stag’s End Ombre edge grain cutting board is a combination of Walnut, Cherry, Maple and Wenge wood. This unique combination of woods allow us to create a cutting board that transitions from a darker wood along one side to a lighter wood along the other. Most people are familiar with the three American hardwoods in this board: Maple, Cherry and Walnut but few have heard of Wenge. The Wenge tree is found in West Africa. It is a tall tree at over 60 feet with a trunk that is 3 foot in diameter. The Wenge wood is a often has a slight reddish or yellowish hue. It is considered an Exotic wood. Stag’s End treats each cutting board with our homemade blend of mineral oil and beeswax. Please oil regularly to avoid warping and cracking. Most of our Ombre edge grain cutting boards are fairly consistent in color while others have more contrast between the reds and brown shades of the wood. Due to the natural variation of wood grain, your boards look and color balance will be unique.
